On May 28, this year’s edition of “Tomorrow’s Historians,” a collaborative effort between the Irvington High School Social Studies Dept. and the Irvington Historical Society, was held in the Irvington High School library before a full house for the fourteenth time.
The concept for the symposium was created by Social Studies teacher and Irvington Village Historian Dr. Erik Weiselberg. AP U.S. History teachers Chris Barry and Lawrence Fata, who took over for Dr. Weiselberg seven years ago, selected the top 23 research papers (out of a pool of 90), which were written by students as a course requirement. Students were permitted to choose their own topic.
