On Sunday, November 9, the Irvington Historical Society hosted its 7th Legacies Fall Benefit at the Ardsley Country Club. Roughly 180 people attended what has been called “The Annual Irvington Reunion” as ten of its most notable seniors were celebrated with brunch, an intergenerational gathering of former and current village residents as well as numerous family members, and a documentary during featuring a recording of the celebrants sharing their memories and photos of living in Irvington.
The group was diverse–the group included a minister, a mayor, an architect, a shop owner, a writer, a teacher, as well as volunteers involved in multiple village organizations. Yet what emerged during the event were their commonalities–a sense of humor, persistence, positivity and a love of Irvington.
This year’s Legacies: Barry Seaman, David Harkness, Joan Snell, Pam Mitchell, Earl Ferguson, Dennis Flood, Veronica Gedrich, Margaret “Kate” Karfiol, Bea MacLetchie, and Barbara Wright.
