James Alexander Hamilton, son of Alexander Hamilton, lived through nearly a century of American transformation, from the Constitutional Convention through the Civil War. Hamilton also made his home at Nevis, now Columbia University’s Nevis Laboratories, in Irvington. This talk explores his world, personal experiences, and the turbulent century he witnessed.

Samantha Wilcoxson is an author of historical fiction and nonfiction that illuminate overlooked figures from the Tudor era through the 20th century. Samantha’s most recent work, James Alexander Hamilton: Son of the American Revolution, takes an intimate look at the transformative 19th century in US history.
